Cut out all that’s not surprising!
People only learn when they’re surprised
If they’re not surprised, then what you shared with them fits in what they already know. No minds are changed. No new perspective. Just more information.
So, a good way to be useful to people is to cut out everything that’s not surprising. Nobody has ever complained that:
Product was too simple
Talk was too short
Content was too crisp
If you have something surprising to show, then remove everything else.
If you don’t, keep looking until you do.

P.S. Principle assumes that the intent of sharing is to change perspective. Even if what you want people to learn is mundane, it’s effective to teach if they are sufficient surprised.
